In May 2025 Howag Ltd. – Bulgaria celebrated a 10-year anniversary with all of its employees, special guests from Switzerland, and many fun events.
Howag Bulgaria was founded at the end of 2014 and started operating in 2015 as a subsidiary of Howag Kabel AG, Switzerland (est. 1936). All companies from the HOWAG Group – Switzerland, China, Bulgaria – are specialized in cable processing and production of cable assemblies.
The celebrations included over 150 people. Howag Bulgaria was joined by some employees of Howag Switzerland, as well as part of the Group‘s management team.
The team warmed up for the celebration with a trip to the seacoast: first, a visit to breathtaking cape Kaliakra (60km away from major city Varna), followed by lunch on the seaside in Balchik, and finished off with strolls along the beach.
The party followed the next day. The evening opened with addresses by Management and Ownership.
Howag Ltd. – Bulgaria awarded 9 gold plaques to employees who have been with the company for the last ten years, and 15 silver plaques to employees who have been with the company for the last nine years.
Further, the schedule was filled by a rich variety of artistic performances:
“New Voices” school of music presented two singers. Kristiana from Veliko Tarnovo – a visually impaired lady with a beautiful voice – sang a song in the traditional Swiss vocal style of yodel. Howag was also happy to welcome back Ilina, aged 9, who is the daughter of Production team leader Boyka Petkova.
The Youth activities centre in Targovishte contributed not one but several performances:
-by the “Targovishte” classical ballet ensemble;
-by the “Rhythm” vocal studio;
-by the “VEGA” school of modern ballet;
-by the dance ensemble “Shareno Gerdanche”, who performed a traditional Bulgarian folk dance.
After the rich artistic program, the surprises kept coming: next was a sweepstake. This time there was only one prize, but it was indeed grand – a 4-day trip for two to Paris with all expenses covered.
All employees from Bulgaria and guests from Switzerland received a sturdy umbrella as a gift from Howag Ltd. – Bulgaria.
The dinner course was finished up with a giant (and very delicious!) cake.
With dinner completed, dance mode was now running in full blast in a mixture of disco, pop, latino, and of course – traditional Bulgarian hora.
Howag Bulgaria’s 10-year anniversary was also a good opportunity for exchange of experience and good ideas between production, engineering, and administration teams. Of course, this is not the first such visit – the team of Howag Switzerland has visited many times, and vice versa. The Bulgarian company was particularly proud to give a tour of its Site 2 and the new developments there, as well as a tour of Site 1.
