Since the beginning of 2025 Howag Ltd. – Bulgaria has been working hard to start several new projects for production of new cable assemblies.
Due to the scale of the projects, the preparation for implementation took several months. The first phases are already completed and some of the products are integrated. Further implementation of the next cable products is scheduled for the beginning of 2026.
Implementing of the projects called for investments in equipment for cable processing, drafting new work processes, and investing in employee training on account of the specifics of the new cable assemblies.
Howag prioritized strong focus on quality control due to the many innovations – new cable products, new equipment, new processes, new employees, – all in addition to high production volumes. Maintaining the strict quality requirements for the production of cable assemblies is a leading principle in Howag’s company policy.
The new customers and projects at Howag led to the opening of new jobs, and so far there have been over 20 new hires, with recruitment still ongoing.
Some of Howag’s new equipment includes:
– additional test equipment
– a multifunctional machine, type “workcentre”
– a production line for thermo-processing of insulation tubes
– several machines for pressing of end-connectors
– semi-automatic machines and applicators for crimping
The expectations for 2026 are for further investments in cable processing equipment, which would allow Howag to achieve higher productivity and lower carbon emissions.
